“Have you ever wondered what happens when a dog’s owners abandon her?” “Sits and observes.”She is looking forward to seeing her family again.”
This week, residents in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, observed a fearful collie-like dog loitering in a local park. She was chilly and alone and refused to let anyone touch her.
Concerned residents called Janine Guido, the founder of Speranza Animal Rescue, a well-known animal rescue group in town.
“She stayed in the same spot, as if waiting for her family to return.” Despite the fact that “Guido alerted The Dodo,” they never did. Guido was depending on the support of the community to discover and save the dog. People reported sightings to her so that Guido might find the dog.
It wasn’t simple, though.
“I was able to hand-feed her on the first and second days I went out,” stated Guido. “However, if I tried to loop the leash around her, she would back up.”
Guido came so near, only for Carla, the dog, to flee into the woods in terror.
Meanwhile, Speranza’s Facebook page assisted in spreading the information so that people may assist in finding the fearful dog. “Ever wonder what happens to a dog abandoned by her owners?” Speranza Animal Rescue announced the news on Facebook. “She sits and watches, waiting for her family to return.”
“The park was a densely populated location,” Guido noted. “And she kept being startled by all the people around her.” She ultimately escaped the woods after being followed by others.”
On Wednesday, there was no trace of her after two days of searching. Many others got concerned as well.
Then, very early Thursday morning, a call came in stating that Carla had been discovered sleeping under a rear porch. Guido’s adventure had already begun.
“I almost had her, but she spooked again,” Guido added.
Carla bolted.
A few hours later, Guido began streaming a live video on Speranza Animal Rescue’s Facebook page, and no one knew what to expect.
As the camera was directed out the driver’s side of the automobile as it drove down the road, Guide narrated her horror over the previous few hours.
Guido received another phone call a few hours later notifying him that Carla had been seen again. Carla, who is sitting in the passenger seat, is then shown.
“We have her!” Guido said in a live video. “Your new life has started. We appreciate you now that you’re protected.”
Guido told The Dodo about how she eventually acquired control of this cautious and shy puppy. “I was able to get her to accompany me onto a porch,” she stated. “She couldn’t flee because the two other ladies had blocked both doorways.” “I tied her up, and the rest, as they say, is history.”
Guido learned Carla was 10 years old, had no microchip, and was 15 to 20 pounds underweight when he took her to the clinic.
“No one knows who she is.” According to Guido, there are no missing persons reports. “Unfortunately, we believe she was dumped, which is why she was living in that same location.”
Carla was fatigued from her days spent alone outside. Guido claims that “she couldn’t keep her eyes open.”
Guido quickly found Carla a foster home where she could relax and heal in a secure, warm, and serene setting. Carla came late Thursday evening.
She will be offered for adoption when she is ready.
“She’s so nice, but she’s terrified,” Guido said. “But once she was in my car, she seemed to know she was secure.”
