Many people are wondering how Kamala Harris went from being the so-called “laughingstock” of Washington to the DNC nominee. Joe Biden picked her to be vice president on what many people believe to be DEI reasons – she’s female and biracial. However, when Kamala Harris ran for president in 2020, she had very little support and she was often mocked and made fun of. In fact, many media outlets and social media pundits mocked her as vice president too, asking what is she even doing all day? And what has she done for us lately? So what all of a sudden changed that had the Democratic Party theoretically ‘install’ Kamala Harris as the new nominee after Joe Biden dropped out? And Joe Biden dropped out completely on his own, right? Or did he?
Brit Hume, from Fox News, said: “What we are witnessing is an attempt at political alchemy because it wasn’t very long ago that Kamala Harris was regarded, certainly in Washington, as something of a laughingstock.”
